Eichsfeld Borderland Museum

The exhibition was redesigned and expanded by a museum team in 2010. Covering approximately. 1200 square meters of space, the exhibition tells the history of German division in the middle of Germany and shows how the border affected Eichsfeld. A new information center presents tourist attractions in the region.
The Borderland Museum ensemble includes the customs administration building in “Mühlenturm,” the customs processing building, the customs inspection garage, the 6 km long border trail, the Borderland Museum information center, the study center offering many educational events, and an expansive research library.
